I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter and copy of despatch, No.7 of 10th July last, from the Governor of Hong Kong, relative to the remittances from that Colony to this office which it is stated amount to £36,000 that allowing for the £15,000 in Apo Masterman's Bills the Crown Agents have been supplied with about £6,000 more than was necessary to meet expenses up to the commencement of the current quarter.
